Associate General Counsel for leading U.S. provider of international satellite telecommunications.  Author of hundreds of legal pleadings, as well as draft legislation, Congressional testimony, and numerous position papers.  Writing and editing credits include:

  • Successful motions for summary judgment in two antitrust suits seeking over $2 billion in damages.
  • Successful petition to free company's most profitable business from common carrier earnings regulation.
  • Company's first inter-carrier contract (with AT&T) and similar contracts exceeding $1 billion in value. 

SATELLITE TELEVISION CORPORATION, Washington, DC (1980-1984)

Assistant General Counsel for COMSAT subsidiary that pioneered the development of today's direct broadcast satellite industry.  Writing and editing credits include:

  • Successful FCC and appellate pleadings creating regulatory framework for satellite TV industry.
  • Comments and reply comments in proceeding to allocate orbit/spectrum resources needed for technology to flourish.

FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION, Washington, DC (1973-1980)

Assistant General Counsel specializing in appellate litigation.  Writing and editing credits include:

  • Petitions and briefs in two Supreme Court cases, both won by the FCC despite adverse lower court opinions.
